Reasons Why Your Cat is Always Hungry

If your cat is always hungry, then you aren’t alone. If you are a cat owner, you know that going to the vet is likely in order if your cat goes its food off for 1 day or more. However, if your cat eats constantly, it could be a sign of health issues, both psychological and physical.

Here are several reasons why your cat always eats:

Worms

If your cat has roundworms, then it would become always hungry. This is because roundworms are getting all the nutrients from the food before that cat gets it. Apparently, a cat that is infested with roundworms might look fat. This is because the worms cause its body to enlarge.

Diabetes or Hyperthyroidism

Hyperthyroidism and diabetes both cause a huge growth in the appetite of your cat. Diabetes – because the body of your cat cannot convert sugar to energy, so the nutrients does not get into the cat’s body. Hyperthyroidism – because the metabolism of your cat is burning a lot of calories. Get your cat to a vet as soon as you can if it is always hungry, constantly eating but still isn’t gaining weight.

Lonely or Bored

A cat is just like a human. If it is bored, they would eat. The answer to this issue is to give your cat more stimulation. You could also let your cat have a friend so he or she will not be lonely in the house.

Our cat Chewy was constantly eating, losing weight and became a mere shell of himself. He did have hypothyroidism and we’re treating him for it, but it’s a long haul and not an immediate fix. He’s my 18 yr baby. I’m torn about what to do

Hmm my cat wont always eat cat Food but tAble people food she eat all the time beGs also she is a rescue stray sent time living on streets of cIncinnati hers sister now only Will eat cat food very good house cat the other staying bit wild still growls Af times like a street cat eould never leave with children the other Trust any conditions babys food Etc always thought some cats just takes things better??

My kitty is still full of vim vigor and vitality but she is eating more now. I give her one can of cat food a day and about a scoop of kitty kibble. Until recently she didn’t care that much for the dry food but she is eating more of it now. As a cat ages is this typical?

My cat vomits like she doesn’t digest her food I had another one like that and one day she never came back I’ve already spent a lot of money on another cat vets and now surgery

MY OTHER CATJUST PASSED AWAY IN OCTOBER AND HE IS MEOWING ALOT WHEN I COME HOME HE IS NOT ASKING FOR FOOD BUT I THINK HE IS LONELY AT ONE TIME THERE WAS TWO NOW THERE IS ONE.
