Sure, human beings are encountering stress. People get stressed about money, time, education and much more. However, did you know that cats also undergo stress? Human beings aren’t the only species who are experiencing this kind of phenomenon. You might be shocked as to how cats can be very anxious regarding even the slightest changes in their environment. More than any other pets, they are mostly creatures of habit and could be resentful of any alterations in their routine. Stresses in a life of cats can come from her surroundings and environment, her physical body, or even be caused by its feline emotions like fear. Here are some of the possible reasons why your cat experiences stress.

Physical Stress

The following are stressors that might directly impact the physical health of a cat:

  • Illness
  • Obesity
  • Surgical Procedures
  • Physical Trauma
  • Worms, fleas, or other parasites

 

Environmental Stress

In terms of environment, a cat’s stressors would include:

  • Moving into a new apartment or house
  • Undue confinement
  • Change in daily routine just like on Holiday seasons
  • Crowded animals in the household
  • Lack of sunshine and/or fresh air, most especially if the cat was used to going outside

 

Emotional Stress

Cats may probably experience emotional stressors like:

  • Jealousy or rivalry
  • A few changes in the number of animal or human family members
  • Fear
  • Death of an animal or a human family member
  • Boredom and loneliness
