History
The Persian Cats are one of the oldest breeds of cats; they are deemed to be ancient. Like most of the ancient breeds, they are history clouded and not clear. But as their name suggests, they are speculated to have come from the cradle of civilization, the Mesopotamia, which was then known as Persia and in this time, Iran.
Appearance and Size
Persian Cats are medium sized cats, males can weigh up to 12 pounds, and the females can weigh from 8 to 12 pounds. Persian Cats are also adored for their sweet and soft voice and large expressive eyes.
The Persian Cats are famous for their long white coats, but they can come from a variety of striking colors like Red, Blue, Chocolate, Calico, Silver, and several others. The coats of Persian Cats need constant attention and care. It has to be groomed constantly by brushing to avoid tangles and mats, and also to bathe at intervals to preserve the luster of their coat.
Personality
Persian Cats are one of the best epitomes of lap cats. They are very gentle and serene, they love to cuddle, and they are not impulsive and overactive. They love their coat to be stroked, and they are contented and happy in your arms.
They spend most parts of the day sleeping or napping. You should not also worry if you leave them home alone while you work, for Persian Cats are the breeds that are not destructive. They are satisfied to sit quietly on your sofa or strolling her your place without breaking anything.
This relaxed and laid-back personality, however, may cause problems for your Persian Cats. They rarely exercise, so you have to supervise and be care about their diet, lest they become fat and unhealthy.
