Advantages and Disadvantages of Small Dogs

In the past, the trend for pet dogs is that bigger the better. Big dogs are excellent indoors as they are excellent outdoor companions for hunting. Now, the trend has shifted to favor the small Dogs. They are ideal for urban setting and living, like on apartments or condos.

Having small dogs have advantages, and these are:

  1. Easier to Deal With

Small dogs are no doubt easier to deal with. They are easier to groom or bathe than large dogs. They are also easier to take to other places, and they don't require far, distances to walk or exercise.

  1. Save money

Having a small dog instead of a large breed will save you money. Your expenses on food will certainly be cut down. Your supplies for grooming and taking care of them would also last for a longer time than those of larger dogs.

  1. They are sweeter

Although large dogs are sweet in their way, small dogs have the tendency to be sweeter than them. This because of their small size, they are easy to cuddle with. You can take them easily on your lap and pet them. Their small size also allows them to sleep beside you through the night.

Although they have their advantages, having Small Dogs also have disadvantages.

  1. They can't do some things big dogs do

It is obvious that small dogs can't play with you as big dogs do. Their small physique won't allow them to, no matter how much they want it. Although small dogs are brave and have big personalities, they can't protect you as much as big dogs can.

  1. They are harder to train

Small dog breeds have the tendency to be stubborn. Small dogs don't like training and learning as much as big dogs do.

Make your little dog more adorable by having these groom stuff you might need at Pet Clever!
